We are delighted to announce that we have enrolled, seen and gathered samples from our target number of people with ME/CFS (both mild/moderate and severely affected). Meeting this goal has been made possible by those of you who volunteered to take part and put the word out to friends and family directly as well as via social media.
With your fantastic help we have over 500 people participating in the Biobank project – people with ME/CFS, Multiple Sclerosis and healthy controls – some of whom have donated blood samples twice.
As of December 2016 we have over 29,000 aliquots (samples) stored at the University College London/Royal Free Hospital BioBank, a state of the art facility, ready to be used for biomedical research.
On International ME Awareness Day (12th May 2016) we were delighted to be joined by some of you in London as we officially launched the UK ME/CFS Biobank. Since our opening we have had significant interest from the UK, US and Europe.
We can’t thank you enough for your help.
