All contributions directly support the work of the CureME Research Team.

Biomedical research into ME/CFS has historically been underfunded, although our research team has been very grateful for financial support from Action for ME, the ME Association, ME Research UK, and a private donor, which enabled us to launch the pioneering UK ME/CFS Biobank. We recognise that much of this funding originated from patients and their loved ones.

We would also like to acknowledge the ongoing investment from The ME Association Ramsay Research Fund. This has enabled us to continue to expand our work and, building on this success, we recently received additional, significant funding from the US National Institutes of Health (NIH).

Why donate?

Funds are still needed to support our dedicated team members’ time, to add further timepoints to our longitudinal studies, to enhance data collection and analysis, and particularly to enable the distribution of our samples to approved researchers from around the world, searching for the biomarkers of ME/CFS. The maintenance of the biobank, and the release of samples to selected researchers from other institutions, are not funded by government grants.

We have a unique biological resource: every penny given to us enables research by our collaborators across the globe, delivering solid biomedical conclusions in the most cost-effective manner.

Fundraise for CureME

Would you be interested in fundraising for CureME’s vital work by holding an event such as a car boot sale, a plant or cake sale, a birthday party, or a sponsored activity such as a walk, run or cycle? Where does your money go?

All donations directly support our group’s work, helping enhance and expand our research and ensuring project sustainability. If you are a UK Taxpayer, your kind donation is Gift Aid eligible.

Donations of any amount are welcome.  Your gift could cover freezer storage of one set of blood samples for five years (£5), tubes for one blood draw (£10), a set of laboratory blood tests (£50), or medical equipment for clinical measurements (£2,500).
